How it works
For businesses, underwriting draws on financial statements, AR and AP aging, bank transactions, tax filings, sales by channel and sometimes ad spend and inventory. Data pulled directly from source systems, with the borrower's consent, is fresher and harder to falsify than uploaded PDFs. After funding, the same data supports monitoring for covenant checks and early warning signs.
Example
A revenue-based financing provider pulls a merchant's monthly sales, refunds, ad spend and P&L for the past 18 months, then sizes an advance at a share of expected revenue.
In integrations
The embedded lending solution on Unify Int is designed to pull P&L, balance sheet, AR aging, bank and commerce data into one normalized model with borrower consent recorded by Unify Connect. The Ads API adds spend data for lenders who underwrite on acquisition efficiency. Direct data connections can shorten underwriting from weeks to days, but only if they cover the systems borrowers use. Coverage gaps send applicants back to manual uploads.
