How it works
Payment providers earn more when suppliers accept card or electronic payments instead of paper checks. Supplier enablement starts with the buyer's vendor list and payment history, identifies which suppliers already accept a given method, then contacts and enrolls the rest. Enrollment details, such as remittance email and payment method, flow back into the buyer's payables process.
Example
A card program reads a customer's last twelve months of bills, finds 140 suppliers paid by check, matches 60 of them against a network of card-accepting merchants, and runs an outreach campaign for the others.
In integrations
Supplier enablement depends on clean vendor and AP data from many ledgers. The Unify Accounting API is designed to read vendors, bills and bill payments in one shape across platforms, and to write enrollment details and payments back where write-back is confirmed. The supplier enablement solution page shows the full flow. For card issuers and AP platforms, enablement rates drive revenue, because every supplier moved off checks earns interchange or fees. Better vendor data from the ledger means better targeting and fewer wasted outreach calls.
