How it works
An iPaaS provides prebuilt connectors to common applications, a builder, often low-code, for designing flows, and a hosted runtime that executes them with logging and retries. Enterprise iPaaS products are usually bought by IT teams to connect a company's own systems, such as a CRM to an ERP. Gartner describes an $8B+ iPaaS market growing more than 20% a year (Gartner, 2024).
Example
An IT team builds a flow that creates a NetSuite customer whenever a Salesforce opportunity closes, then posts a message to the finance channel.
In integrations
Unify Int is not an internal-IT iPaaS. It is a unified API and integration platform that software companies use to offer integrations to their own customers, which is closer to embedded iPaaS. Enterprise iPaaS still sets the bar buyers expect for governance, monitoring and audit, and Unify Int is designed to meet it. Knowing the difference helps you buy the right tool. If you need your own systems talking, look at iPaaS. If your customers need your product connected to their systems, look at unified APIs or embedded iPaaS.
